SARBANES HONORED FOR ADVANCING ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDINGS

Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards: Maryland to Receive Over $6 Million in Emergency Funding for Energy Assistance for Low-Income Families

Edwards (D-MD) today announced that Maryland will receive $6,387,721 in emergency funds for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. In a letter to President Obama earlier this year, Congresswoman Edwards joined her colleagues in urging the President to release the emergency funding. LIHEAP helps eligible families pay for home heating, cooling, and other energy costs, as well as helping with weatherization costs.

Enterprise to Use $95 Million Recovery Act Allocation as Cataylst for Green Development, Job Creation

Green Communities New Markets Tax Credit Program Launched. Columbia, MD - May 29, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Through its subsidiary, ESIC New Markets Partners LP, Enterprise Community Investment, Inc. (Enterprise) received $95 million in New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) authority from the U.S. Treasury Department’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund. Enterprise is one of 32 Community Development Entities (CDEs) receiving an allocation of the $1.5 billion in NMTC awards as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This new allocation brings Enterprise’s total NMTC awards to $610 million, $515 million of which has previously been invested in low-income communities nationwide.

Prince George’s County Offers Christmas Tree Recycling Program
