September 10, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, which President Obama signed in April, included a provision – supported by 9/11 families – that designates September 11th of every year as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Tomorrow, September 11, 2009 will mark the first day that Americans across the country will honor the victims and heroes of the 9/11 tragedy by serving their neighbors and communities.
Rep. Frank Kratovil will mark the day of remembrance by joining Habitat for Humanity of Talbot & Dorchester Counties at their work site in Easton to address volunteers and help in the construction of low cost housing for members of the community.

Since 1992 the Talbot / Dorchester affiliate has completed 46 homes and currently has 5 homes under construction. They rely on volunteer labor and financial and material contributions in order to successfully partner with families to build decent and affordable homes in Talbot & Dorchester Counties. Homes are built under the trained guidance of a volunteer construction supervisor.
