Update on MCDOT Highway Services Projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 16, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Nighttime resurfacing of Shady Grove Road, from the ICC/I-3370 ramp to Frederick Road (MD 355), will begin in July and take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting. MCDOT will remove and replace distressed pavement areas and repave with hot mix asphalt. Work hours will be 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday to minimize travel disruptions. If necessary, some work may be done on Saturday nights, as well.

Resurfacing of Democracy Boulevard, between I-270 and Old Georgetown Road (MD 187), will also begin in July and is expected to take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting. MCDOT will remove and replace distressed pavement areas and repave with hot mix asphalt. Work hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. If necessary, some work may be done on Saturday nights.

Full-depth, permanent patching project using hot mix asphalt are planned for the Paint Branch Farms neighborhood in Silver Spring and Dickerson School Road, Dickerson. The work will begin in June and both projects are expected to take about three weeks to complete. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some paving may occur on Saturdays, if required.
